weekly wrap up!

Ahhh I can’t believe it’s the weekend again already! I’m trying to slow down and appreciate each moment like I talked about yesterday…I really like re-living my week in these posts because they actually make me think back on the week…and sometimes I have a really hard time even REMEMBERING what I did last weekend or on Monday! Because life is just so full right now! It’s full of mostly good things though so I am very thankful.

The Good:

  • Last weekend I got to second shoot a gorgeous wedding with Katelyn in Charleston, SC…I could go on and on about how fun (and quick!) this trip was! Katelyn drove us down Friday and we got to Charleston just in time to see the city before the sun went down and to have dinner!..then we shot the wedding and I drove us back to VA that night…We didn’t get home till 5 AM, but it was so worth it and I felt so honored to get to be a tiny part of Britt’s wedding day. Katelyn is so fun, the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and I’m now newly obsessed with Charleston. Ryan and I will definitely be going there for an anniversary or something now!!
  • I got to go back to Blacksburg for a day! Ryan represented his company at an engineering career fair at Virginia Tech, so I got to sit in a coffee shop and do work (and get distracted by old friends) all day. We also got to eat at some of our favorite restaurants from our college days!
  • My good friend Katie visited me to hang out and take some headshots of me and I was reminded that you can never run out of good portrait locations in Richmond and I LOVE that fact. We found a PEACH house to take pictures in front of people. It was so cute! (Image below by Katie)

  • I got to help my friend Lauryn record a video for a blog post she’s making…and although it’s a very elementary video, I was proud that we figured out how to do it!

The Bad:

  • I rented the Canon 5D mk iii this week, and although this was a very good decision, the bad part is that now I feel like I need to upgrade from my mk ii…I better start saving…
  • I learned that shooting bridal portraits of one of the prettiest brides ever makes having to wait until after her wedding to show them off really hard!!
  • I’m really terrible at putting on fake eyelashes…I think it took me 30 minutes to do so for my headshots…and they still weren’t on right.
  • Our house is still in disarray…There’s SO MUCH left to unpack and put away! I feel like it will never end.

Hope you have a good weekend! I’m heading to the 757 to shoot a wedding and I’m so excited to get to stay with my parents!

Anna it was so wonderful meeting you last weekend and I’m so glad you got to come with Katelyn. I loved your images from the day and the ones you included in this post are just beautiful. We loved having your extra eyes there for us :) And I apologize for Dustin probably saying 100 times that you guys were late getting to the venue…I told him to be there 45 mins early…but he didn’t know that was early haha. I probably should have told you that! Hope to see you again sometime! :)
