Last week I got to spend two awesome days back in Blacksburg at my alma mater (am I old enough to have one of those??)…Every time I go back I can’t help but reminisce about the good times I had at school and the good friends I made during my time there…It was ESPECIALLY crazy to meet Joyelle and George on campus last week because although I never really got to know them, we lived in the same freshman dorm together! They started dating back then and I remember seeing them doing flips together down the hallways…

Which makes sense because they both taught gymnastics at one of the Virginia Tech gyms while in school! They are such a fun couple and it is so awesome to see how much their relationship has grown since the days of living on campus at Tech…I love that it worked out for us to do their engagement session there!

It was an absolutely perfect fall Blacksburg day…These days I am normally super happy living in Richmond, but the fact that the weather was gorgeous and the leaves were already changing way more up there than here made me miss living in Blacksburg! Richmond has a ton of good portrait locations, but what it doesn’t have is MOUNTAINS..which make an incredible backdrop for portraits! We started their session on campus, but eventually made our way over to Heritage Park just as the sun was setting behind the mountains for the last set of images…
