A Giveaway and a Goodbye!

We’re heading to the airport to leave for Germany! I’m soo excited and can’t wait to see my dad’s side of the family! The one downside is that I just started to feel like I was getting the hang of the basics of this whole blogging thing…But I’ve decided that it’s so much more important for me to be soaking up every last minute with my family and to focus on enjoying the experience, than to be worrying about blogging and whether I’ll have sufficient internet to do so…I only get to see my dad’s side of family every few years, and it’s not everyday you get to hang out and explore a place like Germany! So even though I know this decision may take a hit on the number of readers that’ve been visiting my blog, I’m confident its the right decision! and I hope you will come back when I get home in two weeks!! **I’ll still be trying my best to respond to emails while I’m gone though!

In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway! A few weeks ago, I saw this apron at Anthropologie and couldn’t help but think that it matched my new branding perfectly! Anthropologie has the BEST aprons. It’s kind of an ironic thing for me to give away, because I’m not the best at cooking…Ryan is an AMAZING cook and can somehow create a gourmet meal out of nothing..so he does most of the cooking in the Akins household…but who says you can’t at least look cute while TRYING to cook??

I’ll also bring back some of my favorite german chocolate from my trip for the winner! It’s called Kinderschokolade, and if you havn’t tried it you NEED to!!! I think we have it in America now, but its called Kinder Chocolate…and I swear its not as good as having it straight from Germany!

All you have to do is like my Facebook page here…if you’ve already liked it, then you’re already entered!! I wanted to do this as a way to say thank you for supporting me in my first week of being a blogger! I’ll randomly pick a winner when I get home from Germany and then mail you your gift!

P.S. I’m looking for new home decorating blogs to follow, since I’m trying to plan out how I want the rooms in our new house to look…does anyone know of any good ones? I already follow Young House Love and Design Sponge…If you give me a suggestion I’ll enter your name twice in the random drawing!! thank you for your help in advance!

Auf Wiedersehen and Happy Friday!!

That apron is so cute!! I’ve never owned an apron before! I don’t read a lot of home decor blogs anymore because I spend a lot of time reading photographers blogs, but I really like Bower Power Blog (she’s friends with Sherry from Young House Love), and I also read We Met in a Bar, though it’s not entirely about decor. I can probably think of some other good ones…I’ll let you know lol.

such a cute apron! I just read The Perfectly Imperfect Home by Deborah Needleman, which I really liked for some general basics/rules to follow when decorating. Also I’ve heard that her Domino Book of Decorating is really good, but I haven’t had a chance to pick that one up yet.
