There are a few things that really get me pumped up…right now those things include finding a really good sale, decorating our new home, getting snail mail (yay Christmas cards!!), looking at pictures of cute puppies online and begging my husband for one, Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes (I havnt ordered anything else since the summer and I’m still not ready to give them up for any of the other holiday lattes just yet!), and CRAFTING…I LIVE for crafting..okay maybe not really, but crafting is so relaxing to me and somehow brings me so much joy knowing that I made something (especially if it saves money making it)!
So today I wanted to share one of my favorite little Christmas crafts that’s so simple but so cute! These little guys are the perfect decoration to add to your mantel…
I made some of these last year because decorating on a newlywed budget can be tricky! These are so cheap and easy to make!
All you need:
- some old candlestick holders..I got these at a thrift store for 30 cents each
- a few pinecones…I asked Ryan to find me some in the woods, but you can also buy them at a craft store
- some little sparkly stars…this little bunch of them was 99 cents at Michaels!
- a hot glue gun
All you have to do is hot glue the pinecone onto the candlestick and then cut off one of the stars from the bunch and glue it on top! impossibly easy and so cute!! I think they would also be cute in centerpieces for a winter wedding!
You could also tie ribbon right below the pinecone if you don’t like seeing the glue! I’ve also made some where I spray painted the candlestick holders different colors first for a different look! I just love how simple and classy these plain ones are though!
