I first met Deanna in my home a few months ago when we decided to set up a meeting to get to know one another to see if I would be a good fit to work with them and capture their wedding day…It’s kind of fun because before I meet with a new bride, I always try to imagine what they are like from their emails…sometimes I’m completely off, but Deanna was just the type of bride I expected! She’s so sweet and kind-hearted and I loved listening to her talk about her fiancé, Phil, in that initial meeting…These two currently have a long distance relationship so they are obviously so excited to get married and begin their life together this summer!

We decided to do their engagement session at Belle Isle here in Richmond….It was really fun because I’ve done a lot of urban/city type shoots recently, and I just love how these feel more rustic and like we were in the middle of nowhere! (even though we were literally right by the city!)…We started by some pretty pink blooms and then made our way over the little footbridge to the Isle and into the woods…Deanna and Phil share such a sweet love…I couldn’t help but notice how they are both more reserved when you first meet them, but they bring out the fun and silliness in each other! They just fit so perfectly together…

Deanna saw this fallen tree and suggested we take a picture on it…we had to walk through this tall grass with tons of bugs in it, but I’d say it was WORTH IT!!
