When Allison mentioned wanting to do their engagement session at Swannanoa Palace, I immediately knew I was going to love her…this is one of my all time favorite locations to shoot!! Picture an all white marble palace that you’d see in a Disney princess movie and then multiple it by 100…it’s partially in ruins and has an enchanted feeling to it…

You drive up and immediately feel like you’ve been transported into a storybook! There are old tiered gardens in the back with a spot where you can peek through the trees and see the mountains…and there’s an old tower where I’m guessing Rapunzel lived at one point ;). 

David and Allison are the sweetest and I’m so grateful I got to spend an evening with them taking these!! Before we headed to Swannanoa, we stopped by UVA where they first met…I loved getting to hear more of their story and I’m so excited to capture their wedding in Charlottesville next year! Allison has the best taste and I already know it’s going to be an incredibly beautiful and special day…
