I’d never been to Chincoteague Island before this trip…but as soon as Jennifer started talking about taking her engagement photos there, I was sold. Her family vacations here every year and I could see why they choose to return year after year right away! This place is so dreamy! We met on the main island of Chincoteague where we got some ice cream in a cone with rainbow sprinkles from Mister Whippy (so good!) and I got to hear more about these two and their plans for the wedding and after.

Last weekend, Ryan and I made our way up to snowy upstate New York for Katie and Billy’s engagement session on the beautiful campus of Cornell University. Billy went to school there and Katie spent many weekends there visiting him, so it was the perfect place to capture their relationship!
I bundled up in my warmest clothes and we made our way through the snow for their session. Despite freezing temperatures, these two made it such a fun experience!

It felt like something out of a romance novel..I drove down a winding, sandy road on an island off the coast of North Carolina until I arrived at the last house on the very northern tip of the island. As soon as I caught a glimpse of the beautiful roofline and the big windows with the water in the background, I couldn’t wait to start shooting! Almost on cue, Nate and Ellie came out of the house and met me as I drove up…They are every bit as down to earth and fun as they seem in these photos!

They led me in the front door and I couldn’t wait to get to know them

One of the things I love most about the end of the year and the beginning of a new one is getting to look back through all of my work and choose new portfolio images! It’s so fulfilling to see how much I’ve accomplished in such a palpable way and to relive so many special moments that contributed to an amazing year of working…I love seeing the growth and recalling sweet times with amazing clients. I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people in such beautiful places…This past year was one for the books! I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from my 2014
