One of my favorite things about this job is getting to know so many different couples…It’s so fun getting to hear their stories and see how they interact and relate…My goal is always to make couples feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera so that there engagement session really reflects their relationship and personalities! Lisa and Henry chose to have their session at Pocahontas State Park and it was so much fun to walk around together and to get to know them a little bit as a couple…I love how this session really feels like they were just going on a date to the park….

Lisa and Tyler are one of those couples that you meet and then almost instantly feel like you’ve been friends for a long time…I had driven up from my home in Richmond, VA to just outside of Philly in PA for their e-session and I got stuck in the WORST traffic…It took me three hours longer than it should have to get to the Philly area…it was crazy! If you’re a photographer in the south and have to drive up north for any weddings..be aware that the traffic is much worse up there from my experience! I called Lisa while I was stuck in traffic and asked if she would like to reschedule for the next

One of my best friends in college was one of those girls that is absolutely gorgeous without knowing it, but also HILARIOUS and totally willing to make fun of herself at the same time…She never took herself too seriously and she always managed to make others feel amazing too…If you spend five minutes with her you’re almost guaranteed to laugh your head off and hear one of her many funny accents…She just has the best sense of humor. But she’s also super humble. I would be willing to bet that when my friend reads this it won’t even cross her mind that I might be talking about

I met Ashleigh and Alex at sunrise one morning here in Richmond for their engagement session…I was really impressed because they really loved the idea of a sunrise shoot even though they were coming from out of town…these two got up SUPER early that morning to drive up and arrive at the Capital Building at 6:45 AM….and I have to say it was definitely worth it!!! I hope they agree :).. The lighting was so pretty and it was so nice to feel like we had the city to ourselves…On a Saturday morning that early, the usual hustle and bustle in downtown Richmond was absent …
