Last week I went to California for the very first time to attend a photography conference called United and it exceeded all of my expectations…I’ve spent all week processing it — re-reading my notes from all of the amazing speakers and reflecting on the friendships that formed and the conversations had — the dreams shared and the encouragement given…and I still don’t know how to even begin to explain it! It’s so refreshing to be a part of an industry where my supposed “competition” are actually some of my best friends and the biggest cheerleaders for my business. I love that so much!

We met Liz and Daniel within the first few months of moving to Richmond and became fast friends since we had a lot in common and we were both newly married…It’s so funny to think about that first year as newlyweds! It seems like yesterday and yet time is going by so quickly…It was a little less than a year ago that Liz and Daniel announced to our church small group that they were expecting their first baby! And we couldn’t be more excited for them and their little family…Kate Ryland is the sweetest baby and I’m so excited to watch her grow up! I always knew that Liz

I always love getting to hang out with senior girls for portrait sessions…Hunter is tall and GORGEOUS, and so down to earth and sweet and I am so thankful that I got to spend an afternoon with her and her momma to take these! The end of high school is such a fun and exciting time and I love that when I shoot senior portraits, I get to hear all about the plans and dreams that they have for their future…There are so many different paths to take after graduating and I remember feeling overwhelmed by them (I am the queen of indecision!)…but I’m so excited for Hunter to finish out her senior year and decide what is up

These days typically when I get an inquiry for senior portraits I pass them along to one of my friends who does them as a more official part of their business…weddings and couples portraiture is truly my passion, so as I’ve started booking for 2014 I’m devoting most of my time to the brides who have chosen me to capture their special day…but every so often I get an inquiry from a senior who I’m just really excited to work with! Emilee is one of those girls that lights up a room and radiates a true inward beauty. Her confidence in who she is makes other’s feel more confident and beautiful too..and she’s just so
