Okay I know it’s Thursday, but this is a good one and I didn’t want to wait until next week to post it! The getting ready portion of the day is probably my favorite part of a wedding day. Portrait time with the bride and groom is a close second…but there’s something so magical about the beginning of the day when emotions are running high and the bride is looking forward to that moment that she get’s to see her soon to be husband!! I love walking into the room and feeling the excitement in the air! I love watching the joy on the mother of the bride’s face as she helps her daughter get into her dress

To me, this is the fun part!! This topic wasn’t really something I had to think about when I was a bride…My wedding was in June and we had a brunch reception in the early afternoon so the wedding ended long before the sun went down and I was able to give my wedding photographer, Katelyn, a ton of time for portraits before and after the ceremony…BUT lately I’ve been learning more and more that if you’re planning an early spring, late fall, or winter wedding this is definitely something you have to consider in regards to your wedding photography, especially if your wedding date falls after daylight
