Germany Part 1 – Nurnberg + Bamberg

I decided it was really important for me to share some pictures from our recent trip to Germany on my blog, because if I didn’t make it a goal to share them then I’d never get through editing all of them! So really if I’m being honest this post is for me…I want to be able to look back at it and reminisce about all of the fun times we had!

These are just a peek into our first few days there…we stayed pretty close to “home” (home being my aunt’s house) the first few days to relax, spend time with family, and recover from jet lag…it rained the first three or four days we were there and it was around FIFTY DEGREES…much different from the 105 degree weather we left behind in Virginia.

I can’t believe we were taking these pictures over a month ago! Time is going by too fast!!!!! When I think back on our trip it seems like it was an awesome dream..one of those that you wish you could relive again and again. I miss my family so much already and I’m already so excited for the next time we will be able to go…but for now, I’ll just have to relive the experience through pictures!

Our view from the plan as we were about the land! The German countryside is SO pretty!!!

This is my Grandmothers house in our little town of Langenzenn…

Getting cappuccino was a daily ritual

Our view from the cafe we went to on our first full day in Nurnberg!

My little sister is my mini me…we look especially alike when we both wear aviators…

Geli’s bestfriend Megan came on the trip too! It was fun because it was the same group of us that went back in 2010 when Ryan and I got engaged there!

Getting ice-cream was also part of the daily routine…

Our second full day we headed to Bamberg! On the right is my sister with my sweet Aunt Edith

Bamberg is nicknamed “Little Venice” because so much of it is built around or over the water! It is one of my absolute favorite German cities!!!

My sister is SO beautiful..

We went to that restaurant in the picture on the right for lunch that day…

Look at those clouds!! We kept getting caught in the rain!

I got a little obsessed with taking pictures of cool doorknobs…I guess I have a thing for cool doors/doorknobs…

Stopping to take a cappuccino break of course…In Germany a lot of outdoor cafe’s have blankets on every seat! GENIUS.

And then the sun started to come out!

I love all the outdoor markets and stands that they have there…

And that’s it for now! But I’ll continue to share pictures from our trip as I edit them! I might be a little biased, but if you’ve never been to Germany, you should definitely make it a life goal to visit it one day…

Oh, thats funny, Zirndorf is quite next to us. Annamarie, your pictures espacially about Bamberg are wonderful. ( the other ones too, no doubt) Next time when I go to Bamberg I try to see it with your eyes. ( And of course we will have Rauchbier and Schäufala im Schlenkerla)
