It was sometime last year that Ali suggested we take a trip to Charleston with some of our close girlfriends to reconnect and get away before the busyness of wedding season started…I loved the idea right away and was so excited when she made it happen! We got our friends on board and soon enough she had rented us an adorable little house in Folly Beach just outside of Charleston in South Carolina for the week. A few days of fellowship, relaxation and adventures. There aren’t many things I love more!
We spent our days exploring the historic district, Boone Hall Plantation, and eating at local restaurants like Poogans Porch and Husk. And at night we headed back to the house for dinner, crafts, and dance parties. We packed 11 girls into the little house and I slept in a king size bed with two other girls and shared a bathroom with 5 girls! It made me feel like I was in college again! I loved it so much! And the best parts of the trip were honestly the undocumented ones…which is saying something because Charleston is one of the most inspiring places ever for a group of photographers and artists! But the best parts were the late night talks, the morning devotions, the reflections about who we are as women of God and how we can share His love with others more.
Over the past few years these women have become like family to me…most of us live in different places and this little trip away was such a joy-filled way to reconnect and celebrate all that God is doing in our lives! I could probably write a book about each of these girls…about how grateful I am for their compassionate hearts and the way they encourage others to live intentionally and to love generously. Learning to be a friend focused on building up those around you brings so much joy…and the ripple effect that happens when you do is so powerful!
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds…” Hebrews 10:23
I hope you enjoy my favorites from our time in Charleston! And if you’ve never been, I highly recommend planning a trip to visit it one day!

Looks like you had a great time involving Ona Bags and Canon gear! Did you all put the same lens attached ? Did you take most of them with your 50mm?
