Rudy and Rebecca

This past Memorial Day weekend I had the honor of photographing the beautiful wedding day for two incredible Air Force Pilots at the gorgeous Boars Head Inn in Charlottesville and everything about it was a dream come true! First, I have to give a special thank you to them and all the other military guests who attended their wedding…It was incredible to see the special bond they share with their military family and I am forever thankful for their service to keep our nation safe and free. Thank you to all the members of our military.

Rudy and Becca met over ten years ago when they were attending UVA and were both a part of the Air Force ROTC program. They started dating at the end of college and since then their training and work has brought them all over the world. Rudy did training in Oregon while Becca was stationed in Germany…and during this time over Christmas Rudy flew all the way to Germanys to surprise Becca with a proposal. As soon as he saw her at the airport in Frankfurt, Germany he got down on one knee…and the rest so they say, is history. They are now both stationed in Japan where they live by the beach with their dogs!

In light of where they first met back in school, they decided to go back to their roots and get married in Charlottesville at the UVA chapel! And because of their passion for their work, the incredible Taylor of Alyson Taylor Events designed the most perfect theme for them: Love is in the Air. There were so many sweet and genuine touches that were a nod to their jobs as pilots and their love of planes. I love how Taylor and Becca along with Chloe of English Tea Paperie worked to weave the theme throughout the day. But I think everyones favorite special touch was the hot air balloon! I loved seeing all their guests cheer as they took the first ride up in the hot air balloon as husband and wife!

Becca and Rudy, your day was so perfect from start to finish!! Thank you so much for having me capture such a special event. Congratulations again and I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites!
