Yesterday I drove up to Washington DC to meet the sweetest couple for their engagement shoot… they are getting married this Fall in Charlottesville, but currently live in DC so it was fitting to capture their relationship in this season in the place where they spend most of their time together!!
They live right down the street from the gorgeous “Spanish Steps” that are right off of Decatur Street… and even in winter without the greenery, this spot is absolutely gorgeous! It feels very European and I think we could have done their entire shoot here…

Brandon and Brooke are a perfect match… both easygoing and so down to earth. He’s from the west coast and she’s from the south, but together they’ve made DC their home. Their joy and the easiness that they have with each other is so special. I loved seeing them laugh together!! I felt like I was just following them on a date in their city…

The weather was a little chilly, but they made it such a fun shoot! I loved hearing about their friends and family and can’t wait to celebrate with all of them (or see what their amazing planner, Cinda, is helping plan for them!) after they say their vows at the gorgeous Trump Winery. 

After shooting at the Steps, we made our way over to the Jefferson Memorial. I’ve photographed countless sessions at it, but it takes my breath away every time I’m there with the grand columns and the ornate details on the interior of the dome. It’s truly a photographers dream!
It was windy, but so beautiful! I’m so excited for you to see a few of my favorites from both locations!
