On a beautiful early August evening, Daniel and Kelcey said their vows at the gorgeous Riverview Manor with beautiful mountain views behind them. It was such an amazing ceremony and I felt so humbled that I got to be the one to capture it…Tears of joy were flowing throughout the day and you could sense the excitement that their friends and family were feeling as the day unfolded.

I walked into the room where Kelcey was getting ready that morning and immediately adopted that same feeling of excitement!

There’s something extra special about shooting a military wedding…I think a groom in uniform makes for some really classically beautiful portraits but aside from that, I love the sense of family that those who are a part of the military have with one another. My grandfather went to the naval academy and served in the Navy so I always get a sense of pride when I reflect on the sacrifices he made for our country. And it was so beautiful and joyous to see Emma taking on that sense of pride on her wedding day as she promised to love and cherish Teddy forever and embrace military life. At the end of their day

Excitement and anticipation filled the air as Deanna got ready with her girls at The Vintager Inn in New Kent, Virginia in a quaint, cottage style room…I could sense the pure joy that Deanna was feeling as she touched up her makeup and got into her dress with the help of her momma and bridesmaids…it was finally her wedding day!

In most cases I get to meet my brides and grooms before their wedding day….I include an engagement session in all wedding packages because I think it’s usually really important for couple’s to get the chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and with how I pose…but in Laura and Brian’s case our session got rained out multiple times and we ended up adding extra time to their wedding day instead of doing the engagement session…so I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but Laura and Brian were so natural in front of the camera and made my job so easy!
