Oh man…it’s APRIL…March was full of so much goodness! It was my birthday month, I got to spend time with my family, celebrate easter, see Les Mis on broadway, shoot 2 weddings and a bunch of engagement shoots…oh yes..and we got to add a sweet little addition to our family! A new PUPPY! (Formal introduction on the blog coming soon!)

And I loved every minute of it…it was just a joyful month overall. I’m so thankful for the good times in life even if they are busy! I think it’s sinking in more and more that I’m most joyful when I’m being thankful and appreciating the moment…It’s easy to look ahead and long for “what’s next” or to think that if I just had ____, I’d be really happy and life would be good…but it doesn’t actually work like that. If I’m waiting for my house to be fully decorated and perfect, or until I can finally own that expensive camera bag, or until I can get a new car with power steering that doesn’t fail half the time, or until my new branding is finished…yes, all of these are real life examples of things I often think I need to be happy…but they won’t actually satisfy me. I’ll just be looking forward to the next thing…true contentment and joy comes from being thankful for what I have and in doing so having confidence that I’m exactly where God wants me…

That being said, I think it’s still important to plan for the future! Here are a few of my April Goals…

Business:

• Reveal my new logo on the blog (on Wednesday! YAY!!)…and continue moving forward with finishing up the rest of my new website and blog!
• Finish entering all of my 2013 weddings into my ShootQ software (This program has been such a huge time saver for me!)
• Finish up my taxes (Thank the Lord for CPA’s. We would be crying right now had we not hired ours…)
• Start using my new workflow boards! (I STINKING LOVE THESE THINGS! They are so cute and I think they are really going to help keep me on track with my work better!)
• Hang stuff in my office on the walls! It’s looking so good in here guys…All that’s left is a rug to really complete the space, but I’m waiting on that till our little puppy is fully potty trained…

Life:

• Continue to train Lexie so she is really well behaved! She’s so cute it’s hard not to want to spoil her…but we are staying strong! She is just the best. I can’t wait to show you her portraits…
• Continue my Jillian Michaels workout videos with my friend Melanie…these videos are killer and I kind of hate Jillian right now…but it’s definitely worth it..
• Start going on more walks with Ryan and Lexie now that it’s finally getting warm (HALLELUJAH!)…one of our favorite places to walk to is Starbucks (is that a surprise?)

March Accomplishments: (I decided to start posting last months accomplishments because I’m a girl who needs encouragement that I’m actually moving forward and getting things done:))

• I ordered business cards that match my new branding…They are so PRETTY..I can’t wait to start handing them out…
• I also had my designer make me new workflow charts…I can’t wait to hang them up and start using them!
• I got a new chair for my office for my birthday! I actually meet with potential clients in my living room because I think it feels more homey…but just in case I ever need to bring a potential client into my office now I will have a place for them to sit! (and really…I just wanted a cute chair for my office to make the space feel more complete…)
• I shot my first two weddings of the year!
