Downtown Richmond | Katie and Johnny

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again because the more I work with couples like Katie and Johnny, the more I know it to be true…working with brides who are super excited about their wedding photography is the BEST! I left their e-session feeling especially grateful that I get to work with couples like them who are passionate about their pictures and about having their love for each other documented in a beautiful and authentic way! I also left it feeling like I had known these two for years…They are so open and sweet and I just loved my time with them! Katie and I messaged back and forth about their session in the weeks leading up to it, and I got more and more excited to spend the evening with them. She was a little nervous (and I can relate! I remember being SO nervous before my own engagement session!), but you would NEVER know it by looking at the pictures! These two were so natural in front of the camera and amazing to photograph…I already can’t wait to shoot them again at their wedding next year!

We walked around downtown Richmond all evening and I loved getting to learn more about their relationship and their plans for their wedding and marriage….I’m so excited for them and am so thankful that I get to be a part of this amazing time in their lives! And I can’t wait for you to look through their pictures because Katie and Johnny’s love and joy shine through each one…aaand just wait until you see the glowy light in the ones at the end! I love golden hour! Enjoy my favorites!:

So beautiful! Love the ones with the red door in the background. And the black & white one with Katie’s hair blowing in the wind…gorgeous!

I really like how your sessions always feel like you just happen to be following them around on a date…but then you still take some more “posed” type ones too…It feels so natural!

I know that you have to tell people how to stand and pose them, looking at these, it looks like you had to pose them no more than 10-20% of the time, you captured them as they REALLY are! THANK YOU!
