Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I think about the amazing people that I get to know because of my job…this was one of those occasions. Katie is hilarious and stylish and encouraging and made the most stunning bride! When it rains on your wedding day, you have to have a good sense of humor about it! And Katie didn’t bat an eye despite the drizzly forecast…she’s a planner by nature and everything couldn’t have gone more smoothly…On top of that, there’s something about a rainy wedding day that’s really romantic and almost magical. The fog that settled over the mountains that afternoon at Early Mountain Vineyards outside of Charlottesville made for the perfect portrait backdrop! I was almost jumping up and down with excitement taking portraits of Katie and Sean because it was SO beautiful!

Early Mountain also has the most perfect ceremony rain plan…the room inside is somehow grand and cozy at the same time. An oversized fireplace glowed in the background as Sean waited for Katie to make her way down the aisle. They said their vows, which were the perfect blend of humorous and elegant thanks to the fact that they are both teachers…then the crowd cheered as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife! 

I also loved all the details that Katie worked so hard to bring together…the jade green color palette was so refreshing for Fall and I loved that the table number display was personalized to them…books wrapped in pretty paper we’re organized on a ladder with each guests name listed under their table! It was all so perfect, sincere, and heartfelt!

Katie and Sean both have incredible and fun families and after the toasts were shared, my favorite part was watching them enjoy the party! They were all on the dance floor most of the night! It’s really special for me when a family is so welcoming and loving. I really felt like a part of the celebration and it was truly an honor to capture it!
