Our Babymoon + A Desert Maternity Session | Jordan + Amy

If you’ve followed the blog for the past 8 months or so, you probably already know that one of the absolute sweetest parts of pregnancy has been getting to share it with these two!! Jordan and Amy, two of our closest friends, found out they were pregnant just a couple weeks before we did! We are about 3 weeks apart in our pregnancies and we couldn’t have planned it better if we tried…

But last year before we got pregnant, we had planned to go on the trip of a lifetime together! We both knew we hoped to start having babies soon so we mapped out a trip to Norway and Scotland and booked it for last July! Well last July, Amy was a few weeks pregnant and SO sick so Ryan and I had to go without them…we are so grateful for that trip together just the two of us…especially after we found out we were pregnant too and it was a true babymoon! BUT we were SO sad to miss out on that time together…so in those early days of pregnancy before we really even knew what it meant to have an actual baby bump, we decided that a joint mini babymoon was a MUST and it finally happened last month!!

We looked into lots of locations that would be warm in the winter…and finally settled on visiting Jordan and Amy instead! Scottsdale is PERFECT in early January so we couldn’t have beat it by going anywhere else! We stayed at their home and planned to get prenatal massages at a nearby spa! It was the BEST experience because when you book any treatment, you get to use the spa facilities for the whole day! So we relaxed by the pool and took full advantage of the snack bar, relaxation rooms, and waterfall tub…we have so many sweet memories from that trip of even sweeter conversations about the journey to parenthood and future adventures we could have once our boys are here! I’ll never forget it!!

Another thing we planned to do on the trip was take a few more maternity photos! We took maternity photos earlier on when they were visiting the east coast, but this time the bumps were out in full force! haha! We went to the most beautiful park near their home and snapped a few more photos to help us remember this sweet season! One I know I will look back on with so much gratitude and joy!

Jordan and Amy, thank you for being such treasured friends who never fail to encourage us, inspire us, pray for us, or make us laugh till we cry…I’m not sure what the future holds for us and our boys, but we are so grateful to always have you to lean on! We love you so much!!
